Collecting 'Coats for Kids'
Highland High School SADD members and 8th Grade DARE Role Models will be holding its annual Coats for Kids Drive from November 17-25 (High school drive runs through December 5). Please consider donating a NEW or gently used coat for a child who is in need. The High School will also be collecting hats, scarves, and gloves this year. Many children in our community do not have a winter coat or the means to purchase one. By donating a coat, you will be helping to keep a child warm this winter! There will be a collection box in the front lobby of each Highland school. All coats will stay local in our community. With the help of Howard Hanna Wadsworth and the Wadsworth Salvation Army working together, we can help the less fortunate. Thank you for your support!
Chinese Folk-Fusion Band to Perform at HHS
Highland High School welcomes Shanren, a Chinese folk-fusion band, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 22 in the HHS Auditorium. Through original compositions and traditional songs, the four musicians fuse their indigenous music with modern styles from around the globe, creating a fresh sound in China’s increasingly diverse music scene. Since its founding in 2000, Shanren has earned critical and popular acclaim at major music festivals in China, Indonesia, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Canada, and Spain. This event, which is made possible through the support of Arts Midwest World Fest and Ohio Regional Music Arts Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) is open to all neighboring communities. Advanced tickets for the concert at Highland are $10 and available at www.ormaco.org, by phoning 330-722-2541, or at all Medina County Buehler’s locations. Tickets are $12 at the door.
